Odin - The chief of the Æsir and god of war, wisdom, poetry, and death. Odin is known for his relentless quest for knowledge, even sacrificing one of his eyes for wisdom. He is also associated with magic and prophecy.

Thor - God of thunder, lightning, storms, oak trees, strength, the protection of mankind, and also hallowing and fertility. Thor wields the powerful hammer Mjölnir, which makes him one of the most formidable gods in battle.

Freyja - Goddess of love, beauty, fertility, sex, war, and wealth. Freyja is a member of the Vanir, a group of gods associated with health, fertility, and fortune. She rides a chariot pulled by cats and possesses a cloak of falcon feathers.

Loki - A trickster god associated with mischief and chaos. Loki is not purely evil but is rather a complex character who creates problems for the gods and sometimes helps them. He is also linked to magic and fire.

Frigg - Odin's wife, associated with love, marriage, and destiny. Frigg is known for her foreknowledge and wisdom. She is the queen of Asgard and the highest among the goddesses.

Tyr - The god of war and justice, known for his role in the regulation of law and order among gods and men. Tyr is particularly noted for his bravery, exemplified when he places his hand in the mouth of the wolf Fenrir to bind him, losing it in the process.

Balder - God of light, joy, purity, and the summer sun. Balder is known for his death, which is one of the most poignant and significant events in Norse mythology.

Heimdall - Guardian of the Bifröst, the rainbow bridge that connects the world of the gods and the world of men. Heimdall is known for his keen eyesight and hearing, and he possesses a horn that is blown at the onset of Ragnarök.

Freyr - Brother of Freyja, associated with kingship, sunshine, and fine weather, as well as prosperity and good harvests. Freyr is a member of the Vanir and is a powerful and benevolent god.

Idunn - Keeper of the apples of youth, which the gods must eat to retain their youth. She is the wife of Bragi, the god of poetry.

Bragi - God of poetry and eloquence. Son of Odin and the giantess Gunnlod, Bragi is known for his wisdom and eloquence in speech.

Njord - God of the sea, wind, fish, and wealth. Njord is a Vanir god and is associated with sea travel and fishing, crucial for the Nordic people.

Hel - Ruler of Helheim, the realm of the dead. She is the daughter of Loki and presides over the souls who do not die a heroic or notable death.

Skadi - Goddess of winter, skiing, and hunting. She is a giantess by birth, but becomes associated with the Æsir by marriage to Njord.
